Frequently Asked Questions About Our Event Venue in Southwest MN

  • Do you require us to select a vendor from a preferred list?
    5 Family Ranch does not restrict the use of vendors. You may choose your caterer, decorator, DJ, etc. Any additional contracted services/products requested by you with cost incurred will be billed directly to you by the vendor. You and your vendor(s) will respect the rules of the 5 Family Ranch that include the following: · Vendors are subject to prior approval from 5 Family Ranch. · Caterer must carry a current and valid food license. · DJ will provide their own equipment. · All vendors must clean up after themselves.
  • Can we get in the day before to decorate?
    If you require additional time for decorating or wish to hold your rehearsal or rehearsal dinner at the venue the day before your event, you may rent the barn by the hour, subject to availability. Our calendar, for such rentals, is determined 4 months in advance, and we will contact you at that time.
  • Do you allow pets?
    Dogs are allowed to participate in the OUTDOOR wedding ceremony and photos. Due to health code restrictions, 5 Family Ranch does not permit animals inside the venue (with the exception of service animals). While on the property, 5 Family Ranch requires the animal(s) to be assigned a handler to look after it/them at all times, clean up after the animal(s), and remove them from the property after the completion of photos and/or the ceremony.
  • What size tables do you have?
    We have the following sized tables:
  • What kind of chairs do you provide?
    Brown cross-back chairs for an indoor ceremony and reception. White folding chairs for an outdoor ceremony on the patio.
  • How large is the patio?
    Our 60'x60' concrete patio is perfect for hosting large outdoor wedding ceremonies and is conveniently located near the outdoor bar. During the social hour and late into the evening, it's an excellent space for guests to gather. In addition, we have a smaller patio on the south side of the barn, ideal for more intimate socializing and large group photos.
  • Do you have onsite parking?
    Absolutely! Our event venue in southwest MN offers ample on-site parking, with a lot that can accommodate up to 180 vehicles. In addition, we have overflow parking available for your convenience.
  • Can we leave our vehicle parked overnight at 5 Family Ranch?
    Sure! Overnight parking is allowed at 5 Family Ranch. If there is an event scheduled for the next day, please pick up your vehicle by noon the following day.
  • Do we need to provide our own bartenders?
    No, you don't need to provide your own bartenders. 5 Family Ranch provides a fully staffed, full-service bar for your event.
  • What are our responsibilities for setting up and cleaning?
    5 Family Ranch will take care of the placement of all tables and chairs for the ceremony and reception before your arrival. You will be responsible for decorating and setting the tables. After the event, you are responsible for taking down all of your decorations. However, 5 Family Ranch will handle the clean-up of clearing dinnerware off the tables after the meal, emptying garbage throughout the evening, and overall clean-up of the venue.
  • Does 5 Family Ranch provide water on the tables?
    Yes, we place water glasses at each place setting and provide water carafes at each table. Additionally, we ensure that the carafes are kept filled throughout the reception for your convenience.
  • Is the barn handicap accessible?
    Great news! The barn at 5 Family Ranch is accessible for wheelchairs and other mobility devices as all entrances are ground level with no steps. Additionally, all bathrooms are equipped with accessibility features. There's a 5 feet wide concrete sidewalk that wraps around all sides of the barn, making it easier for guests to move around. Lastly, we have reserved handicap parking spots available right in front of the barn.
  • Does the barn have an elevator or chair lift to the mezzanine?
    While the barn doesn't have a chair lift or elevator to access the mezzanine or bridal suites, we can provide accommodations for bridal party members requiring a wheelchair. We can transform the lower level sitting room into the perfect bridal or groom suite to ensure everyone is comfortable and included in the special day.
  • Do you have any arches or other items available to use for decorating?
    We have an indoor and outdoor arch as well as a wooden cross that could be a beautiful addition to your ceremony or behind your head table. The best part is, there is no extra charge for their use! 8' x 8' Indoor Arch: Outdoor Arch: 7.5' x 4' Wooden Cross:
  • Does 5 Family Ranch offer decorating services?
    5 Family Ranch's pricing does not cover decorating services, so you are free to either decorate yourself or hire someone to do it for you. However, if you prefer a stress-free experience, we can collaborate with our preferred decorator, subject to availability, to offer you an all-inclusive package that includes a beautifully decorated venue!
  • Do you have any restrictions on decorating?
    We want your day to be everything you dreamed it to be, however, we do have the following restrictions on decorating: No Fresh Flower Petals - They are beautiful, but can stain our concrete and floors. Silk/Artificial flower petals are an acceptable alternative. Psst...Your guests will not know the difference! No Glitter - We all love sparkle and glam, but no one loves the cleanup. Glitter tends to stick around, leaving us still finding it up to your 1 year wedding anniversary. Open Flame Candles will not be allowed inside the building. To ensure the safety of all guests and the venue, 5 Family Ranch does not permit open flame candles inside the building. However, we understand the importance of candlelight in creating a romantic atmosphere, and we allow alternative options such as battery-powered candles or open-flame candles enclosed in glass containers. Let's keep the fire on the dance floor ignited by your fancy dance moves and not with tipped candles onto dried goods. No hanging décor from walls/ceilings inside the barn or exterior walls. The barn's natural beauty provides a stunning backdrop, eliminating the need for additional wall decorations.
